Gun Owners of America (GOA), a Springfield, Virginia-based gun rights organization, has endorsed Kathy Marchione in the upcoming September 13th Republican Primary for State Senate, 43rd District. Marchione, the Saratoga County Clerk, is running against incumbent Senator Roy McDonald.
In their endorsement, GOA called Marchione a “fighter” and said voters “can be sure that as a State Senator, (Marchione) will continue to fight for her constituents and their Second Amendment rights.”
“I am honored to receive this important endorsement from Gun Owners of America. I am a gun owner myself and I have had a lifelong respect for the Second Amendment. I have defended those rights as County Clerk and voters can count on me to defend them as their Senator,” said Marchione.
Marchione added that her respect for guns and shooting traditions stems from growing up in her father’s gun shop where he had an outdoor and an indoor shooting range and where she learned at a young age to reload ammunition.
GOA has more than 300,000 members nationwide.
